It’s second in a series about three sisters who own a rundown theatre in Dublin. They are putting on a play and an unexpected choice of leading man is great publicity for the show but personally troubling for the leading lady. Mimi never got over her first love Rocco when he moved to LA in search of fame and fortune. Now he’s back and looking like he regrets losing her just as much.</p><p>I really liked Mimi - she was self-aware enough to know when she wasn’t being fair, but flawed enough to make some poor decisions anyway. I did get impatient with her Sam storyline but it made me like him more as a character (which is good because I suspect he’s going to lead the next book). Rocco was a bit more of an enigma but sharp-eyed Mimi noticed enough to let us know what he’s thinking even if she can’t put the votes together. </p><p>The rehearsal process and attendant cast shenanigans were a nice look behind the curtain and introduced some interesting characters who I’d like to see more of. </p><p>Overall the book was light and funny, so if you like second chances of live theatre, give it a go!</p><p>Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the author via Rachel’s Random Resources; all opinions dress my own. </p><p><b>Author Bio</b> –</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVZcFXzOKMMfaPfMN7PphFQj245I_kFDdyVDbVJ625FhJ621bsSRkAGP68tkUXqWI91WLmZfYEEuiL-4hMW1n3By_WAr5uvQbSfGMuo-_zsWCfxCcZRwQALoebVUg-Q40p2N-B5_vpHwNSvFbPObdY5SFT2Xq4bdX0vCsEkrYCvqlRIJE9ioV5NkxSsteC/s3333/DSC_0091-Edit-2.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2589" data-original-width="3333" height="156" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVZcFXzOKMMfaPfMN7PphFQj245I_kFDdyVDbVJ625FhJ621bsSRkAGP68tkUXqWI91WLmZfYEEuiL-4hMW1n3By_WAr5uvQbSfGMuo-_zsWCfxCcZRwQALoebVUg-Q40p2N-B5_vpHwNSvFbPObdY5SFT2Xq4bdX0vCsEkrYCvqlRIJE9ioV5NkxSsteC/w200-h156/DSC_0091-Edit-2.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>Clodagh (rhymes with Yoda) is an Irish author of funny, feel-good romantic comedies. She’s on her way to earning her professorship when she finds out her long-term boyfriend has been sleeping with her best friend! That discovery has her hiding in the broom closet at a posh hotel. </p><p>Only, it turns out broom closets are the place to be these days. </p><p>Christian Slade, America’s sexiest man alive (as voted by fans), in a desperate attempt to escape the paparazzi finds himself in a broom closet with one sobbing occupant. Unable to leave a damsel in distress, he offers help, only to realise she has no idea who he is! It’s like he’s been given a gift. Though they're not perfect - Lana is stubborn and her cheating ex has made her paranoid, Christian means well but stardom means he sometimes loses touch with reality - I thoroughly enjoyed these two falling in love and finding a balance that works for them. <br /></p><p>I would've loved to see more of the background characters, and I'm glad to see some of them are getting their own books. I'm interested in seeing how Summer and Winter (Lana's childhood best friends) shake out going forward, given Summer kickstarted the plot by having an affair with Lana's boyfriend. Most of all, I'd like to see Penny (Christian's assistant) get a happy ending because she is hands down the most sensible person in this book. <br /></p><p>It's a bit cheesy and full of wish fulfillment but reading this book made me happy. Also, Lana's passion for women in STEM is simply awesome. If you want a feel good Cinderella-style rom-com that swings between the wilds of academia and Hollywood luxury, please give this book a go! <br /></p><p>Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the author via Rachel's Random Resources; all opinions are my own<br /></p><p><b>Author Bio </b></p><p>Camilla Isley is an engineer who left science behind to write bestselling contemporary rom-coms set all around the world. It ties in with the previous book in the series but stands well alone, though you likely will be seeking the others as Catherine Tinley's writing is delightful. <br /></p><p>Poor Max does not come across as a hedonistic layabout, but a lifetime has convinced him that he is useless. This is his coming of age as he seeks to shed his ennui and do something useful with his life. I especially liked that he grew because it was the right thing to do, not merely to win Eilidh over. Having said that, he is easy to like and I can understand why Eilidh falls for him. I would've liked Eilidh to have a bit more of an arc but that is a minor point.</p><p>It's a feel good Scottish Regency romance that doesn't shy away from the lasting damage caused by the English - but reminds you that it's not what your ancestors did but what you do now that matters. <br /></p><p>Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book via Rachel's Random Resources; all opinions are my own</p><p><b>Author Bio</b> – </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv0iYOzkIRPhrCgPXSPdB643sCHV7C16IsKMufvHqLvNGsLBxeQFx_ufFmdYBfoYkJCTtq3Nmv4KjNwZKeEG4giUlaYUGmcRMcVeygHS4xShdB7fz178fpT6ZT_EtB2biaC0JZ6-Hm3inXIHjMSGCE2MK8T_aeAEk1TE1Os3v9qOc8bPNGE7J9a6PRog/s2048/CT%20profile%20pic%202021-22.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2048" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv0iYOzkIRPhrCgPXSPdB643sCHV7C16IsKMufvHqLvNGsLBxeQFx_ufFmdYBfoYkJCTtq3Nmv4KjNwZKeEG4giUlaYUGmcRMcVeygHS4xShdB7fz178fpT6ZT_EtB2biaC0JZ6-Hm3inXIHjMSGCE2MK8T_aeAEk1TE1Os3v9qOc8bPNGE7J9a6PRog/w200-h200/CT%20profile%20pic%202021-22.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>Catherine Tinley is an award winning author of historical romance. So when Stuart gets hired to help run the American excavations at Troy, he asks Dusty to join him as the site illustrator.</p><p>For Dusty, the Troy project isn’t just another adventure. It’s the chance to tell Stuart how she really feels. After years of pining for him, she’s ready for more than friendship. </p><p>But soon after they arrive at the site in Turkey, they’re caught up in a feud with a group of German archaeologists. While both teams are eager to make a major find, Stuart’s boss is so determined to beat his rivals that he’s willing to break a few rules. Or laws.</p><p>As Stuart and Dusty work together to keep the dig on track, they give in to the passion that’s been simmering under the surface. But will their romance survive when their boss’s scheme puts the entire project in jeopardy? </p><p><b>Purchase Links</b><br />Amazon: <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BWGKBFNT">https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BWGKBFNT</a><br />B & N Nook Link: <a href="https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/troy-story-carla-luna/1143099586">https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/troy-story-carla-luna/1143099586</a><br />Apple: <a href="https://books.apple.com/us/book/id6445787375">https://books.apple.com/us/book/id6445787375</a><br />UBL (Books2Read): <a href="https://books2read.com/u/bMN2k8">https://books2read.com/u/bMN2k8</a></p><p><b>Review</b></p><p>Carla Luna continues to impress with another wonderfully written romance with a bit of spice and minimal angst. Her knowledge of archaeology shines as she reminds us of the most cutthroat of battlefields: academia. From the hallowed halls of learning to a dig site in Turkey, the quest for recognition seems more trouble than it’s worth!</p><p>Dusty Danforth can’t settle on a thesis topic or keep a lid on her temper, and she is still trying to get out from the shadow of her intimidatingly successful mother. I might sign at her choices when she flies off the handle (even though I completely understand why) but she always has a good heart and definitely keeps things interesting!</p><p>Poor sweet Stuart is doing his best but when caught between a shady dig director and his burgeoning academic career, he isn’t sure where to turn, making him very relatable. Being together honestly causes Dusty and Stuart to make worse choices until they learn how to make each other better.</p><p>The background characters were great - I liked that all of the on page women were different and it worked for them, and that the petty rivalries and jealousy were on the whole worked out so the girls really banded together. I’m especially glad to see that Emilia and TJ are in line for the next book!</p><p>If you love archaeology, romances with a setting outside the usual, or characters with jobs that matter to them, please pick up this book!</p><p>Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book via Rachel's Random Resources; all opinions are my own</p><p><b>Author Bio</b><b><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkRYWv7rB7Ca4q_v0rSw7HqPH4t_xTyhM82y_fqczdPFldaaOYWGtt8ZL07yCwhJRiv7XU-Pp4XLG4hTqfnOh0RJsq-BU3W307_-DOcINYr9DYTE7ggcLKpR8g20azSX8wTV_44clSbSrNRmBGWqkvqddOmdZ_j4L0irh5IP0YLXEE30EBTcSKLdzN1A/s529/Troy%20Story%20Carla%20Luna_heashot.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="529" data-original-width="409" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkRYWv7rB7Ca4q_v0rSw7HqPH4t_xTyhM82y_fqczdPFldaaOYWGtt8ZL07yCwhJRiv7XU-Pp4XLG4hTqfnOh0RJsq-BU3W307_-DOcINYr9DYTE7ggcLKpR8g20azSX8wTV_44clSbSrNRmBGWqkvqddOmdZ_j4L0irh5IP0YLXEE30EBTcSKLdzN1A/w154-h200/Troy%20Story%20Carla%20Luna_heashot.jpg" width="154" /></a></b></p>Carla Luna writes contemporary romance with a dollop of humor and a pinch of spice. Splitting her time between her accounts office in super Instagrammable Notting Hill, and her tiny apartment in quirky Exmouth Market, modern-day life is simply too busy for men. Besides, whenever she tries to find The One, it always ends in disaster. From Tinder tragedies to trampolining tribulations, Celeste is starting to think that she's cursed.<p></p><p>But then Travis begins to pop up wherever she goes, and Celeste knows with stomach-sinking clarity that fate has finally caught up with them. Inspired by the idea of fake dating, Celeste is convinced the only way out of this mess is to call the curse's bluff. But will Travis agree to it? And how can she manage not to fall in love?</p><p>Pour yourself a lemonade and escape with this gorgeous will-they-won't-they rom-com set between London and Gibraltar!</p><p><b>Purchase Link </b>- <a href="https://mybook.to/spinthebottle">https://mybook.to/spinthebottle</a></p><p><b>Review</b></p><p>Celeste is cursed. Every quirky date she plans goes hilariously, hopelessly wrong. Her so-called best friend Mel thinks she's being over dramatic but Celeste can't let go of a teenage kiss and an old lady's prophecy, especially when the subject of both keeps popping up at every turn. Travis thinks she's crazy when she suggests fake dating to break the curse, but how long will it stay fake? <br /></p><p>There's something sugary sweet and sometimes spicy about this book. Disastrous dates aside, Celeste is living a charmed life, right until Travis stumbled back into it. While initial meetings are not promising, there is a ton of UST just simmering under the surface. It makes me wonder if Celeste and Travis would've gotten together faster without the curse hanging over their heads.<br /></p><p>Nevertheless, the banter is witty, the romance is lively and light, and there's just a hint of the supernatural. For a fan of fake dating, unique date ideas, and lemons, this book will tickle your fancy. <br /></p><p>Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book Rachel's Random Resources; all opinions are my own </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheRY6nI58MPTkyrDmUCEJYIXcy85cvDkr8j43dBN59sJM0MvjCblwvAqfSGVePjxnhVjHxdnqUcXnOKcQyTxzib0palzlgPqWwm-3rO0NNZnTNvOMWpoVjfmWIvcKPNVeA5qUul5PKqrI0hy4UYp3kOnIjbIyGvzfp6OH7ST44cjOk0IS1FtS_gw36sg/s1280/Isabella%20May%20chunky%20bangle%20pose_.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="854" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheRY6nI58MPTkyrDmUCEJYIXcy85cvDkr8j43dBN59sJM0MvjCblwvAqfSGVePjxnhVjHxdnqUcXnOKcQyTxzib0palzlgPqWwm-3rO0NNZnTNvOMWpoVjfmWIvcKPNVeA5qUul5PKqrI0hy4UYp3kOnIjbIyGvzfp6OH7ST44cjOk0IS1FtS_gw36sg/w134-h200/Isabella%20May%20chunky%20bangle%20pose_.jpg" width="134" /></a></div><b>Author Bio</b><br />Isabella May lives in (mostly) sunny Andalusia, Spain with her husband, daughter and son, creatively inspired by the mountains and the sea. The intersection of the four narrators - Brenda, her daughter Zara, Eileen, and her son Aiden - are only unexpected to some of them, because Zara, her sister Millie, and Aiden are conspiring to reunite their respective parents in Vegas.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">With little hints from Brenda and Eileen's narration, the celebration of a lifetime is like a train wreck in slow motion, with every encounter sending dreams of happily ever after closer to the edge. From Aiden scheming to get his divorced parents both to Vegas, to the explosive reunion of the older generation, you simply have to keep reading to find out if Brenda and Colin make it to renew their vows, or if this last surprise is the straw that breaks Brenda's ever-patient back. And after so much build up, I would've enjoyed more on-page denouement of everyone in the aftermath.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">I don't want to spoil the story because the twists make it fun, but there are happy endings and maybe a few more chances for the author to work her magic on loose ends.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">Perfect for an escape from reality but don't start when you have somewhere else to be!</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and Rachel's Random Resources; all opinions are my own.<br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span lang="EN-GB" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Author Bio</span></b><span lang="EN-GB" style="background: white; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family: Georgia; mso-highlight: white;"> </span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSIq0ZCKBytFkGuaAUGkxEkaqdKd8Wic12YeOkXDD-yqEaTeZMJdlcms8jbJJRIi0maknkdVE-Zs3lu2s_un0aFSmfGTqDbl3q_BEYVOBnDWtV2moujvzfDIjAiqlw5uw-KEtKsY8CpnCD5_5_eieUxgpiom16KbRdgAzAJfNnfS8rn_-9pJ_l-vvZ5g/s1280/Shari%20Headshot%20Dec%204.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="782" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSIq0ZCKBytFkGuaAUGkxEkaqdKd8Wic12YeOkXDD-yqEaTeZMJdlcms8jbJJRIi0maknkdVE-Zs3lu2s_un0aFSmfGTqDbl3q_BEYVOBnDWtV2moujvzfDIjAiqlw5uw-KEtKsY8CpnCD5_5_eieUxgpiom16KbRdgAzAJfNnfS8rn_-9pJ_l-vvZ5g/w123-h200/Shari%20Headshot%20Dec%204.png" width="123" /></a></div><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-GB" style="background: white; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family: Georgia; mso-highlight: white;">Shari Low is the #1 bestselling author of

She agrees to step into the saddle and compete in an endurance horse race to help secure his ancestral home. Yet the minute Bobby comes face to face with her opponent—arrogant yet infuriatingly charismatic Lawrence, Viscount Hayes—it’s clear that it won’t just be the competition that has her heart racing!</p><p><b>Purchase Link </b>- <a href="https://bit.ly/3W1SOnY">https://bit.ly/3W1SOnY</a></p><p><b>Review</b></p><p>A thrilling endurance race is overshadowed by the riders and the sparks between them!</p><p>This was such a fun book! Bobby and Lawrence felt real people, with their own traits and flaws. It was surprising to see how quickly things started heating up, but it allowed them almost the entire race to fall for one another properly. I enjoyed how the insults turned into banter turned into more emotional and vulnerable confessions, even though the competition never let up!<br /></p><p>Bobby faces period-appropriate sexism so it's not all cheers and banter, and the way she reacts is totally understandable even though it's not ideal. I liked that the book acknowledged and addressed this, while still giving a satisfying and realistic ending. Lawrence isn't perfect either, but it's made clear that as a man his eccentricities are tolerated by society so it takes someone slightly outside the bounds - like Bobby - to make him see the need for change.</p><p>It's interesting that the circumstances leading to the rivalry and the race - the age-old bet and the mounting debt - are never fleshed out, leaving the reader to wonder who was more in the right. Perhaps we'll be lucky and get to find out in Julian's story - because that man needs a good woman to take him in hand!</p><p>For everyone who felt like they didn't fit in, who finds happiness somewhere unexpected, or who just really likes horses - I recommend this romance!</p><p>Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book via Rachel's Random Resources; all opinions are my own.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkRAJ0raKox3FU5frqz2iPoZ9kMMDDOcAi13OqXdGFzAX7byUMdVHB0Muo4UX8isnoag1YZqRGrATyZeS5S4xRcxeY9UqKRj2uWLPEo1irHYTIfE-pORt_KAKsVsaVvJoF_JqLfpj0PGWQfz-aAtJS8X5UFL_VDAvKA1pqENB-W8um1MK3Q3y2UKh9ig/s5472/The%20Viscount%20LJames23.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="5472" data-original-width="3648" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkRAJ0raKox3FU5frqz2iPoZ9kMMDDOcAi13OqXdGFzAX7byUMdVHB0Muo4UX8isnoag1YZqRGrATyZeS5S4xRcxeY9UqKRj2uWLPEo1irHYTIfE-pORt_KAKsVsaVvJoF_JqLfpj0PGWQfz-aAtJS8X5UFL_VDAvKA1pqENB-W8um1MK3Q3y2UKh9ig/w133-h200/The%20Viscount%20LJames23.jpg" width="133" /></a></div><b>Author Bio</b><p></p><p>Lotte James trained as an actor and theatre director, but spent most of her life working day jobs crunching numbers whilst dreaming up stories of love and adventure. All of his brothers got some early bird page time but all we know about Jago is that he's been in America for the last four books and he and older brother Lowen had a somewhat fractious relationship growing up. Now it's finally time for Jago take the spotlight and it feels the most weighty because Lowen's happily ever after is coming apart at the seams.</p><p>I really felt for Jago and Sylvie. A chance meeting sets them up with someone who could be the one, only they both have family issues to resolve and it happens to be the same family, because Jago's brother Lowen is Sylvie's cousin by his birth mother. Don't worry, there's nothing squicky, but one person is uncomfortable and I'll give you no prize for guessing who. </p><p>If it wasn't for the family drama it would be a very straightforward boy meets girl. It sometimes felt like their relationship was simplified to make sure the series was tied up well. This meant that I didn't get a good grasp of Jago and Sylvie as people, but I honestly prefer it to the alternative where a series doesn't get a good ending.<br /></p><p>Best enjoyed as the end of the series, especially after reading Lowen's book, though it can stand okay on its own. I know this is the last book about the Treneary boys and that makes me
sad, because I'd love to see them live the success they've built, which is how you know it was a lovely ending. Once again, we're left with a heartfelt story about the importance of family and the reminder that very little is absolutely good or bad when you look at it from someone else's perspective.</p><p></p><p>Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book via Rachel's Random Resources; all opinions are my own.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTNHwTms0SkX4bazjreSmI_eYI1ivwpLAmpHw8TiziD0L5HMMd7cR8ixxu24SnHFNXGWTxnwQCVAPjUUlAYk8ZCBzSVQSsYwgIcAk3IvMCmRIVO4qb9VH9aZf_bB_lRaSNrUVf9dzDaXMlpUkM3_L2e-mcq1QsWOueUFVqKnQrbSgvKBBiBr6a8-ZnVw/s7952/KDP_Hannah%20Ellis_3.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="5304" data-original-width="7952" height="133" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTNHwTms0SkX4bazjreSmI_eYI1ivwpLAmpHw8TiziD0L5HMMd7cR8ixxu24SnHFNXGWTxnwQCVAPjUUlAYk8ZCBzSVQSsYwgIcAk3IvMCmRIVO4qb9VH9aZf_bB_lRaSNrUVf9dzDaXMlpUkM3_L2e-mcq1QsWOueUFVqKnQrbSgvKBBiBr6a8-ZnVw/w200-h133/KDP_Hannah%20Ellis_3.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><b>Author Bio<br /></b>Hannah spent many years working in childcare before deciding she'd like to write books. Aunt Dorothy is hands down my favourite character but I loved how everyone got their moment in the spotlight and a bit of character growth. Yes, it's about running, but even more, it's about Hannah remembering her own worth and reclaiming an identity beyond that of 'single mother'. I'm sure many people will resonate with Hannah's realisation that she's not who she thought she'd be - but her story isn't over yet.<br /></p><p>This book gave me all the endorphins without any of the exercise, and I call that a win.<br /></p><p>Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book via Rachel's Random Resources; all opinions are my own</p><p><b>Author Bio</b></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRcsWnTgbCQMAmoPeqy-xkDi-veeeZ5i09jOC_g2a56Bo1l92-jZvFl7FbmBlZ0guXfUt2Ma6D1iG6xYoIkmIQwyTeocJt9ZOE0MX1QaQH0rgQCqCj6j0ZbDHofWCk_Zr6grfdnqzQA9rireJQIDTa2TI8GSmkchvMKyEFqS28DFAjjPqjoHTzS-m7-Q/s487/authorpic4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="487" data-original-width="486" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRcsWnTgbCQMAmoPeqy-xkDi-veeeZ5i09jOC_g2a56Bo1l92-jZvFl7FbmBlZ0guXfUt2Ma6D1iG6xYoIkmIQwyTeocJt9ZOE0MX1QaQH0rgQCqCj6j0ZbDHofWCk_Zr6grfdnqzQA9rireJQIDTa2TI8GSmkchvMKyEFqS28DFAjjPqjoHTzS-m7-Q/w199-h200/authorpic4.jpg" width="199" /></a></b></div>Suzie Tullett is an author of contemporary humorous fiction and romantic comedy. It's been a very long time coming for readers and for characters, but it's well worth the wait. They have had fifty years of trauma and separation, and they need some time to fit their edges back together, but the world doesn't stop and neither do their problems. From those outstanding at the end of book eleven <i>Spelunking Through Hell </i>to threads from granddaughter Verity's adventures in book one <i>Discount Armageddon</i>, everything is coming together. It's extremely satisfying.<br /><p>As I was reading, I was acutely aware of the intricate way the Incrypid universe fits together. The events of multiple previous books and five generations of short stories (many free on the author's website or available on Patreon) play into this story, these characters, and their interactions. To make things more complicated, time moves oddly when interdimensional travel is involved so not everything is as we - or Alice - left it. It takes a brilliant mind to fit these stories into such a cohesive whole and I love how this continuity grows and builds upon itself more and more. It's definitely best having read the rest of canon.</p><p>I really enjoyed this book. I loved seeing characters love and laugh and consider what it means to be family and care for one
another - and themselves. If you like light urban fantasy, families who adore knives, and recognition that not all people are human - don't pick up this book. Pick up the first one, and when you've blitzed through them all, come and yell with me about how amazing this series is.</p><p>I received a copy of this book NetGalley; all opinions are my own.<br /></p>Mei Edwardshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05769134785337729207noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7135995888150771022.post-69959636835876833742023-02-14T21:42:00.001+13:002023-02-21T21:53:16.843+13:00Review: End of Story by Kylie Scott<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/7ki6B4B7h7vdg_EKJ9XJhirVyAVcwQ_-stLdzvbt6WHJ7e7SC9qZ5_CMD4syU6ibUfHF2E3-_YtkoYFu87EbW3Msw85Gs3hiKthhO56IFQfMvZDaQWgQMc70CWSAM-Uw3SQqf02OyYONgRxcIQ_wfwY=s1600" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1062" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/7ki6B4B7h7vdg_EKJ9XJhirVyAVcwQ_-stLdzvbt6WHJ7e7SC9qZ5_CMD4syU6ibUfHF2E3-_YtkoYFu87EbW3Msw85Gs3hiKthhO56IFQfMvZDaQWgQMc70CWSAM-Uw3SQqf02OyYONgRxcIQ_wfwY=w265-h400" width="265" /></a></div><span id="m_-8158420158194568168m_-6091465331502469322m_2908454504918089972m_7303102883832838273gmail-docs-internal-guid-92a637e4-7fff-cbcb-be99-e3000e575b64"><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;"><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 12pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">New York Times</span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 12pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> bestselling sensation Kylie Scott's sexy, smart and unconventional opposites-attract love story looks at what happens when fate refuses to give up on what's meant to be...</span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 12pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 12pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 12pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">When Susie Bowen inherits a charming fixer-upper from her aunt, she's excited to start living her best HGTV life. They were hardly enemies, either. But seeing
Susie and Lars make it from whatever-they-were to lovers is charming
and entertaining. Even as they annoy each other, they share food and
desperately try to avoid mention of Lars' best friend who is also
Suzie's awful ex as they puzzle out the mystery of a future-dated
divorce certificate found in Suzie's wall.<br /><br />Susie is delightfully
practical with enough flaws to make her believable and relatable. Lars
might have terrible taste in friends, but he has an awful lot going for
him otherwise. Their supporting cast, led by Susie's bestie Cleo and
Lars' brother Tore, add just the right level of flavour.<br /><br />Smoking
hot chemistry and witty banter aside, the little character moments are
what makes this book shine and Kylie Scott does them so well! From
working through grief and having heart to hearts about cheating to
solidarity against a grasping sibling and converting Lars into a Romance
reader, they make every page an enjoyable ride.<br /><br />For a great contemporary romance with just a touch of the paranormal, I definitely recommend this book!<br /><br />Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from Valentine PR; all opinions are my own </p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;"> </p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;"><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Meet Kylie</span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;"><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><span style="border: none; display: inline-block; height: 262px; overflow: hidden; width: 394px;"><img class="CToWUd a6T" data-bit="iit" height="262" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/wXw0ANUBfwC7HyQE3hhLqqC13dYal-xZnlXBy1oiKreTZVWaZ2bWKu9yBeiccpKtkrqmoguqtOzAs68XA9pXgFLhLjna6-dhLFrzFehJYU6d-F091zhQckykdhCBpi-b-9iBn3odMt9CgWehdvsOWGE" style="margin-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px;" tabindex="0" width="394" /></span></span></p></span><span id="m_-8158420158194568168m_-6091465331502469322m_2908454504918089972m_7303102883832838273gmail-docs-internal-guid-92a637e4-7fff-cbcb-be99-e3000e575b64"><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;"><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 12pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Kylie is a </span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 12pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">New York Times, Wall Street Journal, </span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 12pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">and </span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 12pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">USA Today</span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 12pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> best-selling, Audie Award winning author. Sad? Weighed down? This book is a soothing later-in-life romance set in a charming little coastal town. Yes, it's fifth in the series<b> </b>and<b> </b>chock-full of side characters who have already found their happily ever after, but the focus doesn't waver from Bev and Iain, along with their close family.</p><p>It's refreshing to read about two older leads who have led very different lives with griefs and joys of their own. Bev is happy in her solitary life, though the past carries pain that is brought to the surface just before Iain comes to town with his bereaved son and granddaughter. As Bev takes steps to expand her business and open her heart, Iain and his family begin to settle in a new life and put down roots.</p><p>It's touching, heartwarming, and a much needed moment of calm.<br /></p><p>Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book via Rachel's Random Resources; all opinions are my own <br /></p><p><b></b></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2cX4b9_3F8NxkESqbO5wX9Pq1B1KoMs9PFqzAbzMlJ-Q8H6TrX96g8nYDUhkdogxQ8JdbNLMbuw1dJ5qJ2hMaqA0mXn-dCmcajZCEOQQYVq8AYCcg0GDRewuRcpmBk1EtTZ6drJZfM_NV8E8Eg4xofKuwZD7VITtETBsnAa1vZ7R5EoDTC0DG7a8-OQ/s200/maggie%20C.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="200" data-original-width="200" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2cX4b9_3F8NxkESqbO5wX9Pq1B1KoMs9PFqzAbzMlJ-Q8H6TrX96g8nYDUhkdogxQ8JdbNLMbuw1dJ5qJ2hMaqA0mXn-dCmcajZCEOQQYVq8AYCcg0GDRewuRcpmBk1EtTZ6drJZfM_NV8E8Eg4xofKuwZD7VITtETBsnAa1vZ7R5EoDTC0DG7a8-OQ/s1600/maggie%20C.jpg" width="200" /></a></b></div><b>Author Bio</b><b><br /></b>After a career in education, Maggie Christensen began writing contemporary women’s fiction portraying mature women facing life-changing situations, and historical fiction set in her native Scotland. Her travels inspire her writing, be it her trips to visit family in Scotland, in Oregon, USA or her home on Queensland’s beautiful Sunshine Coast. Maggie writes of mature heroines coming to terms with changes in their lives and the heroes worthy of them. Maggie has been called the queen of mature age fiction and her writing has been described by one reviewer as like a nice warm cup of tea. It is warm, nourishing, comforting and embracing.<br />From the small town in Scotland where she grew up, Maggie was lured to Australia by the call to ‘Come and teach in the sun’. Once there, she worked as a primary school teacher, university lecturer and in educational management. Now living with her husband of over thirty years on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, she loves walking on the deserted beach in the early mornings and having coffee by the river on weekends. Her days are spent surrounded by books, either reading or writing them – her idea of heaven!<p></p><p><b>Social Media Links</b><br /><a href="https://www.facebook.com/maggiechristensenauthor">https://www.facebook.com/maggiechristensenauthor</a><br /><a href="https://twitter.com/MaggieChriste33">https://twitter.com/MaggieChriste33</a><br /><a href="https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/8120020.Maggie_Christensen">https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/8120020.Maggie_Christensen</a><br /><a href="https://www.instagram.com/maggiechriste33/">https://www.instagram.com/maggiechriste33/</a><br /><a href="https://www.bookbub.com/profile/maggie-christensen">https://www.bookbub.com/profile/maggie-christensen</a><br /><a href="https://maggiechristensenauthor.com/">https://maggiechristensenauthor.com/</a><br /><br /></p>Mei Edwardshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05769134785337729207noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7135995888150771022.post-76545687319344288912023-01-31T20:30:00.006+13:002023-02-01T22:55:28.509+13:00Blog Tour: A Notable Omission by Isabella Muir<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSRMijyQHwHrAGDhF7-ts4ao1UH2DCHZCck6W4dLkcfE3Ub4r9qPpsnEsz8edKE5lEMv3nmVKap_p_rLKOu00ejnGQyDYCGQM2puEtCotYH4OV5BFtfkE6og9B46IU0NrIPxyewud8l1bzw_Ll-8Oqux8CD-aip2Sg3Tx93JgVijMgs6HxbprCbiYwSw/s1709/A%20Notable%20Omission%20Full%20Tour%20Banner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1250" data-original-width="1709" height="468" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSRMijyQHwHrAGDhF7-ts4ao1UH2DCHZCck6W4dLkcfE3Ub4r9qPpsnEsz8edKE5lEMv3nmVKap_p_rLKOu00ejnGQyDYCGQM2puEtCotYH4OV5BFtfkE6og9B46IU0NrIPxyewud8l1bzw_Ll-8Oqux8CD-aip2Sg3Tx93JgVijMgs6HxbprCbiYwSw/w640-h468/A%20Notable%20Omission%20Full%20Tour%20Banner.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />A 1970s debate on equality is overshadowed by a deadly secret...<br /><br />Spring 1970. Sussex University is hosting a debate about equality for women. But when one of the debating group goes missing, attention turns away from social injustice to something more sinister.<br /><br />It seems every one of the group has something to hide, and when a second tragedy occurs, two of the delegates – amateur sleuth Janie Juke, and reporter Libby Frobisher - are prepared to make themselves unpopular to flush out the truth. Who is lying and why?<br /><br />Alongside the police investigation, Janie and Libby are determined to prise answers from the tight-lipped group, as they find themselves in a race against time to stop another victim being targeted.<br /><br />In A Notable Omission we meet Janie at the start of a new decade. When we left Janie at the end of The Invisible Case she was enjoying her new found skills and success as an amateur sleuth. Here we meet her a few months later, stealing a few days away from being a wife and mother, attending a local conference on women's liberation to do some soul-searching...<p></p><p><b>Purchase Link</b><br />UK - <a href="https://www.amazon.co.uk/Notable-Omission-Janie-Juke-mystery-ebook/dp/B0BQCLRYS6">https://www.amazon.co.uk/Notable-Omission-Janie-Juke-mystery-ebook/dp/B0BQCLRYS6</a><br />US - <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Notable-Omission-Janie-Juke-mystery-ebook/dp/B0BQCLRYS6">https://www.amazon.com/Notable-Omission-Janie-Juke-mystery-ebook/dp/B0BQCLRYS6</a></p><p><b>Review</b></p><p>A fascinating little mystery with a likeable protagonist. </p><p>Janie Jukes is a librarian, a mother, and a part time sleuth. She credits her love of Agatha Christie for any of her success, though it seems that this case is solved through solid police work, intuition, and being a good listener. With lots of little clues dropped, I guessed at the solution before the big reveal, but the story was no less for it. <br /></p><p>It's an enjoyable read set in the 1970's, bringing second wave feminism to the forefront as Janie and her friends Libby attend a conference on Women's Rights. There are a heap of little references that signal the time period but even more telling are the attitudes! While it took me a little while to warm to reporter Libby (as a librarian, Janie caught my heart easily) I'm genuinely interested to see how things play out next for these two after their brush with Women's Lib. <br /></p><p>Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book via Rachel's Random Resources; all opinions are my own<b> <br /></b></p><p><b>Author Bio</b></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLNg8dfiL-vchl1d1gdfcQkcG2dTwBLrwOjmaiwHAPJAI2rdWd8s67Jia9oznRuHOAv7RdXADYU5VADHZ6s6p_uzYFfCICGD57jCUWt2RNevrhJOYeAtsbeb6rYrzAfZmo524upYPwjEiVLTGwHqZxiEGBu2jdUD7a-5gUAhnN0tZd_trUzTr2Xs3EWg/s1414/A%20Notable%20-%20Isabella%20Muir%2002%20small.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1414" data-original-width="1414" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLNg8dfiL-vchl1d1gdfcQkcG2dTwBLrwOjmaiwHAPJAI2rdWd8s67Jia9oznRuHOAv7RdXADYU5VADHZ6s6p_uzYFfCICGD57jCUWt2RNevrhJOYeAtsbeb6rYrzAfZmo524upYPwjEiVLTGwHqZxiEGBu2jdUD7a-5gUAhnN0tZd_trUzTr2Xs3EWg/w200-h200/A%20Notable%20-%20Isabella%20Muir%2002%20small.jpg" width="200" /></a></b></div>Isabella is never happier than when she is immersing herself in the sights, sounds and experiences of family life in southern England in past decades – specifically those years from the Second World War through to the early 1970s. Researching all aspects of life back then has formed the perfect launch pad for her works of fiction. It was during two happy years working on and completing her MA in Professional Writing when Isabella rekindled her love of writing fiction and since then she has gone on to publish seven novels, six novellas and two short story collections.<p></p><p>This latest novel, A Notable Omission, is the fourth book in her successful Sussex Crime Mystery series, featuring young librarian and amateur sleuth, Janie Juke. The early books in the series are set in the late 1960s in the fictional seaside town of Tamarisk Bay, where we meet Janie, who looks after the mobile library. She is an avid lover of Agatha Christie stories – in particular Hercule Poirot. Janie uses all she has learned from the Queen of Crime to help solve crimes and mysteries. This latest novel in the series is set along the south coast in Brighton in early 1970, a time when young people were finding their voice and using it to rail against social injustice.</p><p>As well as four novels, there are six novellas in the series, set during the Second World War, exploring some of the back story to the Tamarisk Bay characters.</p><p>Isabella’s love of Italy shines through all her work and, as she is half-Italian, she has enjoyed bringing all her crime novels to an Italian audience with Italian translations, which are very well received.<br />Isabella has also written a second series of Sussex Crimes, set in the sixties, featuring retired Italian detective, Giuseppe Bianchi, who is escaping from tragedy in Rome, only to arrive in the quiet seaside town of Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, to come face-to-face with it once more.<br />Isabella’s standalone novel, The Forgotten Children, deals with the emotive subject of the child migrants who were sent to Australia – again focusing on family life in the 1960s, when the child migrant policy was still in force.</p><p>Find out more about Isabella and her books by visiting her website at: <a href="http://www.isabellamuir.com">www.isabellamuir.com</a></p><p><b>Social Media Links</b><br /><a href="https://isabellamuir.com/">https://isabellamuir.com/</a> <br /><a href="https://www.facebook.com/IsabellaMuirAuthor">https://www.facebook.com/IsabellaMuirAuthor</a><br /><a href="https://twitter.com/SussexMysteries">https://twitter.com/SussexMysteries</a></p>Mei Edwardshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05769134785337729207noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7135995888150771022.post-42112160773753175042023-01-23T22:00:00.005+13:002023-01-23T23:29:11.911+13:00Blog Tour: Berlin Calling by Lilo Moore<p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7Rr-hqrF5Qe3CpjbUMRKtPniRqDbXINmtmj4DLTIEs58rE7hniqsXpPLwrMTLAdDENJWFm5vDUzJ3qS6E3y7B31_ds6R7k41LsfuOgZG4Yi66gXyAEP7HUjSmSxBGuFUTaHvSxZ3LubuIuvmEw21v0sknUWfnRDtU_N6jngibXQp4F3YqrlZyRtapow/s700/Berlin%20Calling.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="275" data-original-width="700" height="252" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7Rr-hqrF5Qe3CpjbUMRKtPniRqDbXINmtmj4DLTIEs58rE7hniqsXpPLwrMTLAdDENJWFm5vDUzJ3qS6E3y7B31_ds6R7k41LsfuOgZG4Yi66gXyAEP7HUjSmSxBGuFUTaHvSxZ3LubuIuvmEw21v0sknUWfnRDtU_N6jngibXQp4F3YqrlZyRtapow/w640-h252/Berlin%20Calling.png" width="640" /></a></div>The song contest is hotting up, on and off the stage!<p></p><p>Rose writes twee pop, smiles a lot, and believes in magic and rainbows. As the continent falls in love with Rose and Emil’s competitive banter on social media, they must hide their history from the press or risk losing credibility – and a future songwriting career.</p><p>With an anonymous gossip out to ridicule the colourful contestants and a plot to undermine European public broadcasting bubbling under the shiny surface, Rose must be strong in the face of criticism and stand up for everything the contest means to her.</p><p>If this Canadian girl can save the contest, maybe she can believe that her feelings for Emil are the real deal.</p><p><b>Purchase Links</b><br />UK - <a href="https://www.amazon.co.uk/Berlin-Calling-Steamy-contest-romantic-ebook/dp/B0BN42SLN9/">https://www.amazon.co.uk/Berlin-Calling-Steamy-contest-romantic-ebook/dp/B0BN42SLN9/</a><br />US - <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Berlin-Calling-Steamy-contest-romantic-ebook/dp/B0BN42SLN9/">https://www.amazon.com/Berlin-Calling-Steamy-contest-romantic-ebook/dp/B0BN42SLN9/</a><br /></p><p><b>Review</b> </p><p>Sexy, funny, heartfelt and fun - this was an absolute blast from start to finish. Rose’s infectious optimism is irresistible both on the page and off, and her chemistry with Emil sparkles off the charts. I want to read more about these characters and wish them every success. Emil’s sister Daria definitely deserves her turn in the spotlight as she keeps stealing this one!</p><p>Yes, it’s full of tropes like one night stands, grumpy/sunshine and enemies to lovers. If you despise fun and look down on people who celebrate the little joys in life, this book may not be for you. However, if you have an interest in bubbly nineties pop, Eurovision (including Germany and the UK sharing a history of the bottom spot), and a clueless white girl doing her best and learning about herself and geopolitical tensions along the way, I think you’ll enjoy this book. I know I did!</p><p>Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book via Rachel’s Random Resources; all opinions are my own. </p><p><b>Author Bio</b></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg54xleWNiAGh0sl6bDIL89h3-HHOa6rODXW2cjbB3KGRtIIjXHvDDQTXS09hgjHd-nFXNE9KCqnQuS45vLghZsokq0_NdmdV2F64OiqHJS4C1Dl0eCcRvIS_Wf8V04bteEZOM3jnvcEiPASAL9OWh26QP4t1fkcAo2pMklonN1toXvNZKvZ-qbxSUzBg/s400/Berlin%20AvatarMaker.png" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="400" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg54xleWNiAGh0sl6bDIL89h3-HHOa6rODXW2cjbB3KGRtIIjXHvDDQTXS09hgjHd-nFXNE9KCqnQuS45vLghZsokq0_NdmdV2F64OiqHJS4C1Dl0eCcRvIS_Wf8V04bteEZOM3jnvcEiPASAL9OWh26QP4t1fkcAo2pMklonN1toXvNZKvZ-qbxSUzBg/w200-h200/Berlin%20AvatarMaker.png" width="200" /></a></b></div><p></p><p>Lilo Moore is the steamy romantic comedy pen name of travel romance author Leonie Mack. Mia definitely brings the sunshine - and the matchmaking - but life has loaded Lowen and Pippa with too much baggage to be ignored. There's careful handling of the weight of childhood expectations, even well into adulthood, along with the realisation that sometimes it was all in your head - and sometimes you need to let it out.<br /></p><p>The delicate dance of two jaded people slowly realising they're falling in love plays out against the backdrop of the Scilly Isles, and it's poetic that they must each be reminded of the beauty right in front of them. I loved seeing the rest of the Treneary brothers (and their respective families), not just because enjoyed their books but because it showcased the slow repair of the relationship between Lowen and his brothers. It's a great addition to the series and introduces an intriguing new cast of potential leads.<br /></p><p>For Laird Ewan Stewart, his insecurity around filling his father's shoes and infidelity of a past love have left him scared to ever love again. Every time he even thinks about love, he lashes out or clams up. I loved that Catriona set strong boundaries in response to his hot-and-cold behaviour and stood up for herself after a painful life of loss and past abuse. Her reclamation of herself is a delight.<br /></p><p>I would've liked a little more development and resolution to Ewan's development as Laird and Catriona's search for purpose. Catriona's insight looks like it could rub off on Ewan as she stands beside him and it would be great to see that play out on the page. I really enjoyed the blindfold scene and the intimacy it created between them. Also, Emogene needed a comeuppance.</p><p>The romance was sweet and satisfyingly fuelled by character development, with well-woven appearances from previous leads. I hope this isn't the last we see of these characters and their clans!<br /></p><p>Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book via Rachel's Random Resources; all opinions are my own <br /></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBbJ3xBtyXEVWVeFNaHbyUnprOpt2VH0PBeK68xUm_Nzj7cK5H1KVbJYIWQJ8bhYzDisic50x8Xx-oVoCAi39PDZxgaczRhUWv9-pR7XbefW0D_2YXBtsD4Q57gJdpYtI3hdBJKSO2hOctpbML4ZvJg_369SckWmEbEeo7jBk8suFzlOCQDBeTDpagiw/s3000/Conveniently%20Wed%20Jeanine%20Englert%20Headshot%202018%20Head%20On.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2400" data-original-width="3000" height="160" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBbJ3xBtyXEVWVeFNaHbyUnprOpt2VH0PBeK68xUm_Nzj7cK5H1KVbJYIWQJ8bhYzDisic50x8Xx-oVoCAi39PDZxgaczRhUWv9-pR7XbefW0D_2YXBtsD4Q57gJdpYtI3hdBJKSO2hOctpbML4ZvJg_369SckWmEbEeo7jBk8suFzlOCQDBeTDpagiw/w200-h160/Conveniently%20Wed%20Jeanine%20Englert%20Headshot%202018%20Head%20On.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><b>Author Bio</b><br />Jeanine Englert’s love affair with mysteries and romance began with Nancy Drew, Murder She Wrote, and her Grandmother’s bookshelves full of romance novels. Sure, her self-confidence is in tatters, but she has two fellow divorcees who have her back. Her quiet life is interrupted when Michael Park turns up on her doorstep. His little sister is engaged to Vanessa's ex and Michael needs Vanessa's help to expose him before the wedding.<p></p><p>I loved that the leads were a little older and are racially diverse. I definitely disliked Michael's overprotective streak as Vanessa was still recovering from being under her ex's thumb, but what (perhaps irrationally) annoyed me was the coincidences around Michael being sheriff of the same small town where Vanessa's friends grew up, actually they went to high school together and ran in similar circles, actually he has two friends who have always struck sparks off her two friends... It felt contrived and distracted from what was actually quite a cute story about two closed off people opening up to each other.<br /></p><p>Overall this was a sexy and fun read that mostly hit the spot. It's a great debut and I think the author has far to go! <br /></p><p>Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book via NetGalley, all opinions are my own. <br /></p>Mei Edwardshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05769134785337729207noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7135995888150771022.post-26000798912075850382022-12-13T22:00:00.001+13:002022-12-14T01:26:21.710+13:00Blog Tour: He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not by Aimee Brown<p><b></b></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRl1RddCbyIH0xGV7mfeny6ccwwbpW3xjCz7qHEVink7U5RNPkERgMTPpXWzoFQ9rV-gyVV51GNsSwKxAXKXXt5JmaIwEJ0-lnQ6U3shIQI3yBGB0eOYpbFET99G59ZpxjJp12t3sBA4VbnVJiPk-ts-nN8gSJOv4WgQsRJZS3pBUNYc6MO7r8yFEN6g/s2750/He%20Loves%20Me%20He%20Loves%20Me%20Not%20Ful%20Tour%20Banner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1250" data-original-width="2750" height="290" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRl1RddCbyIH0xGV7mfeny6ccwwbpW3xjCz7qHEVink7U5RNPkERgMTPpXWzoFQ9rV-gyVV51GNsSwKxAXKXXt5JmaIwEJ0-lnQ6U3shIQI3yBGB0eOYpbFET99G59ZpxjJp12t3sBA4VbnVJiPk-ts-nN8gSJOv4WgQsRJZS3pBUNYc6MO7r8yFEN6g/w640-h290/He%20Loves%20Me%20He%20Loves%20Me%20Not%20Ful%20Tour%20Banner.jpg" width="640" /></a></b></div><b><br />Dax Hartley has made flowers his entire life, just like his late father did.</b><p></p><p>When his dad's old florist’s shop is up for sale, he has to have it. The reality show Battle of the Blossoms is the perfect opportunity to win the money he needs, but when his childhood crush blows back into his life, distractions risk taking his eyes off the prize. He needs his head and heart to start working together to ensure he doesn't miss the opportunity of a lifetime.</p><p><b>Hollyn Matthews has made some colossal mistakes in life.</b></p><p>When she's dumped just as she's expecting an engagement ring, she knows she's put her heart into the wrong man. Facing the hurt she left behind means facing some home truths about herself, but there’s one boy who has always loved her, if only she’d take the time to notice him.</p><p><b>Purchase Link </b>- <a href="https://amzn.to/3BWRSsc">https://amzn.to/3BWRSsc</a></p><p><b>Review</b></p><p>When reality show meets childhood crush, you get a slow burn friends to lovers that is entertaining to the end. I loved the unusual reality show (no dating shows here!) perfectly matched Dax's passion and talent - and that he was never put down for being a florist. It was the perfect setting for pining (Dax) and love realisations (Hollyn).</p><p>Even though the majority of the book has a very condensed timeline, Dax and Hollyn felt not just believable but inevitable thanks to their long history - childhood neighbours and Hollyn being Dax's best friend's sister. The great friends around both of them was a highlight, though I still don't exactly understand what happened to Victoria.<br /></p><p>I do wish there had been some acknowledgement that Hollyn hadn't been selfish in losing touch with friends and family, she'd been in an unhealthy and borderline abusive relationship. It might be mean, but I'd have enjoyed a bit more on-page comeuppance for her awful ex. Meanwhile, Dax's FWB Sydney was kinda cool and I'd like to see more of her.</p><p>Overall, this was a great read with a swoonworthy hero and a sweetheart heroine, peppered with pop culture references. Best enjoyed with a bit of tv in the background and maybe some popcorn, this book will have you wishing for someone to send you flowers.<br /></p><p></p><p>Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and Rachel's Random Resources, all opinions are my own.</p><p><b>Author Bio</b><b><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLRBDEYdy17zPgQQ8OJ7-sZCAGgjmQd-_kGOUD7WrWyGfEjKBuFismfImLUd0JV2OxT8l4PVii_90YmwcthX3TYarJNj75nIRsbpGoCz6qPpg40cxymL9kpQL2hVAsus_m3ZDGJQh3A2EqUd1edX4C31W72YW8L4xVmQLCPfHJn45uzqYVqoXh99HtiA/s1333/Author%20Aimee%20Brown.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1333" data-original-width="1000" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLRBDEYdy17zPgQQ8OJ7-sZCAGgjmQd-_kGOUD7WrWyGfEjKBuFismfImLUd0JV2OxT8l4PVii_90YmwcthX3TYarJNj75nIRsbpGoCz6qPpg40cxymL9kpQL2hVAsus_m3ZDGJQh3A2EqUd1edX4C31W72YW8L4xVmQLCPfHJn45uzqYVqoXh99HtiA/w150-h200/Author%20Aimee%20Brown.jpeg" width="150" /></a></b></p>Aimee Brown is the bestselling romantic comedy author of several books including The Lucky Dress. While a HFN is part of her happy ending, it's not the central theme of the plot. <br /></p><p>It can be hard to empathise with Sophie due to her privileged upbringing and indulgent parents, but she's genuinely kind and hard working, and at least somewhat aware of her privilege. I also love that she enjoys and is good at her job, and it's central to her reclaiming her life instead of a slog. </p><p>I adored the scenes where she got to tell her ex off; they were super satisfying and more numerous than you'd think. The book also focuses on Sophie's many female friendships and generally women are only portrayed in a negative light when they set themselves up in competition to other women. </p><p>This is a satisfying post-divorce romp with tons of female friendships, low angst, and a heap of fun. </p><p>Disclaimer: I received this book via Rachel's Random Resources; all opinions are my own. <br /></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-EZGgntusOxSUDxQe8TQvMxUNY0eCV1BNtCJp5025ffTBCgAN4ioiMOu_XeZNvXsiAkbwH46jBaInTWEFbSh7A9PEM5j_oUC4kUt_8_8FkA3xDguq1qUCxqjqOqhiA05MdxkOySRi92TmsCiD2cryoWPTYCf3gn9G2AKqPKzkEf4tgN-6x4sr_w4oUg/s398/PhoebeAvatar.png" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="398" data-original-width="398" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-EZGgntusOxSUDxQe8TQvMxUNY0eCV1BNtCJp5025ffTBCgAN4ioiMOu_XeZNvXsiAkbwH46jBaInTWEFbSh7A9PEM5j_oUC4kUt_8_8FkA3xDguq1qUCxqjqOqhiA05MdxkOySRi92TmsCiD2cryoWPTYCf3gn9G2AKqPKzkEf4tgN-6x4sr_w4oUg/w200-h200/PhoebeAvatar.png" width="200" /></a></div><p><b>Author Bio</b> </p><p>Phoebe MacLeod is the author of several popular laugh-out-loud romantic comedies. Yet whilst they have created a life together as friends, Freddie can’t let their special connection become more than that. Not when his dangerous past continues to haunt him… But what happens when Freddie’s feelings for Philomena also refuse to stay hidden?</p><p><b>Purchase Link </b>- <a href="https://bit.ly/3oZINsz">https://bit.ly/3oZINsz</a></p><p><b>Review</b></p><p>The Gentleman of Holly Street is a heartwarming romance that does away with trite sentiment and insists that the true spirit is not just love, it's kindness with no strings attached. This book makes me want to - if not change the world, then improve my little corner of it. It's most certainly idealistic, but when else will hope by rewarded with success and true love, if not at Christmas?</p><p>Freddie and Mena are two wonderful characters who spend far too much of the book mutually pining over each other, kept apart by reasons both valid and less so. I always have sympathy for women in this situation in historicals, as there's generally a power imbalance that may make the consequences of rejection far more dire. Given the situation, I think the author does a good job of putting Freddie and Mena on an equal footing not just inside their relationship but outside of it.</p><p>I also loved Lady Mary. She was the clear voice of reason that everyone needed and I'd love to read more about her.</p><p>For a cosy Christmas romance with some slow burning angst and a dose of hope, pick this one up.<br /></p><p>Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from Rachel's Random Resources; all opinions are my own</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif5_OojC4OkB03rjYjYOBqOX_TtD4IVVSuUpa6aep0Xz0LUqKmdftpB0K-W549m6Y3GUUW1CzifaiFV29nVNbGHnyCE0UGNkKbKLrQJl3MZzzrS9lNykI07UDYv_lsTcTa1A935s4znNn94emz2VAFO3hgGQqoojF8OCxtw02g-5l3qeI16-Kszi_2_g/s1800/The%20Gentleman%20of%20Holly%20Street%20-%20L.James.2021.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1800" data-original-width="1200" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif5_OojC4OkB03rjYjYOBqOX_TtD4IVVSuUpa6aep0Xz0LUqKmdftpB0K-W549m6Y3GUUW1CzifaiFV29nVNbGHnyCE0UGNkKbKLrQJl3MZzzrS9lNykI07UDYv_lsTcTa1A935s4znNn94emz2VAFO3hgGQqoojF8OCxtw02g-5l3qeI16-Kszi_2_g/w133-h200/The%20Gentleman%20of%20Holly%20Street%20-%20L.James.2021.jpg" width="133" /></a></div><p></p><p><b>Author Bio</b><br />Lotte James trained as an actor and theatre director, but spent most of her life working day jobs crunching numbers whilst dreaming up stories of love and adventure. It has the tight-knit Treneary family we know and love, the gorgeous Isles of Scilly once again giving me travel envy, and a precocious plot moppet named Ellie. Ellie's relationship with Trystan's mum is adorable. </p><p>Tissue warning: there is discussion around dementia and the sudden death of a parent. The book starts light but it's not afraid to delve into the emotional stuff and I'm not ashamed to admit I got choked up when Beth and Trystan really got talking. It's leavened with humour, but it's heavy subject matter that can hit quite close to home. I liked that it was realistic and not perfectly clear-cut or cured by the end of the book - though Trystan has some family loose ends that I hope get tied up soon!<br /></p><p>I liked both Beth and Trystan - two normal people carrying their own share of hurts, not looking for love but finding it anyway - and making it work through sensible communication and a gentle dose of matchmaking. They're that realistic type of couple who make you believe love is possible.<br /></p><p>Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book via Rachel's Random Resources; all opinions are my own</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghWUsKeEYi6lF-UcROpqqtKlvQTdw4KrYDhcvEgoXZD58TGwvf-4f6vSw0VhZ9KaUwhLxnq1M_DnzRwf6R5JAaYbzpJ_ruw9Zh6go_AUDTSbtAkmuUS-f-F9UcErB3GjTu1PMNSaj043EYrT40oWtb_tTWe9B2_tWVKNRuLZtp9q_nNevRLVHM0pWCTA/s7952/KDP_Hannah%20Ellis_3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="5304" data-original-width="7952" height="133" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghWUsKeEYi6lF-UcROpqqtKlvQTdw4KrYDhcvEgoXZD58TGwvf-4f6vSw0VhZ9KaUwhLxnq1M_DnzRwf6R5JAaYbzpJ_ruw9Zh6go_AUDTSbtAkmuUS-f-F9UcErB3GjTu1PMNSaj043EYrT40oWtb_tTWe9B2_tWVKNRuLZtp9q_nNevRLVHM0pWCTA/w200-h133/KDP_Hannah%20Ellis_3.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><p></p><p><b>Author Bio<br /></b>Hannah Ellis spent many years working in childcare before deciding she'd like to write books.
